The Stampede! KOH race @ Reno Nevada

So it's time to go racing again. This time the team from BNMotorsports will be racing at the Stampede, a KOH style race run by Hammerking Productions in Reno, Nevada on Saturday the 11th of September. 80 miles on a 3 lap course with long fast climbs and some really technical rocks will test the buggy and team. I'm driving again and Randy Slawson is back in the Co-Dog seat. The car has gone back to it's normal tall stance since the hill climb and also has some new bling inside the LS1. We went testing at Johnson Valley yesterday and hit a new top speed of 116 mph, and it has more to give! We are gunning for the 10k first prize.

This race looks to be a great event and there will be heaps of coverage on Pirate. Stay tuned for updates.

Just made it to Reno. the casino we are staying in is pimp. There's a couple of teams here already, about to go for a beer. I'll grab some pics tomorrow and update.

So, today didn't go anywhere near what I planned.

We had qualifying for starting positions for tomorrow's race and I stuffed it big time. Made a few changes and just couldn't get a feel on the buggy and ended up getting stuck on the stupidest obstacle and DNF'd. That means I am now starting 43rd. Shannon Campbell is on the pole, with Jason Shearer, Brad Lovell and Loren Healey following him. It's going to be a great race. I'll have a lot of passing to do to turn in a good result. Unfortunately the course is rough and has limited spots to pass. There are some narley rock sections with one drop off bigger than the one we used to do at Lara.
