new sierra/jimny advice

Hi all i have a new 2010 model sierra/jimny this car's purpose for me will be beach running in your opinions what mods , gear would you run on this car solely for beach and sand work. Thank you

2" body lift, biggest tyres you can fit on, I'm personally fond of 31"ish Cooper ST or STT.
And then "MORE POWER" to drive 'em in the sand.
Loooong Winch and ground achor, and if all else fails, flotties!

You forgot a good shovel and tow strap.
ARB ez-deflator or the Farrot off the guy on here. A jerry can and the time to go.

I think different to the boys above... i would get a 2" Old Man Emu Suspension Lift and some slightly larger tyres and that would do for sand ... thats what my old jimny had and it was a great little 4x4, on many occasions out doing patrols with 35''s and hi lux's.

If you put 31"s on it you will screw up all the gearing and lead to more mods to correct it... not to mention the amount of body mods to get 31's to fit.

Correct me if im wrong but a 2010 model might have an air bag or 2 and i dont think that a body lift would be road legal anywhere in oz.

35's, hilux diffs, triangulated 4-link front and rear, 24" wheelbase extension full hydro steer and airshocks, mine seems to go alright on rock , havent put it on the sand before :|

You dont "need" anything else for an enjoyable time on the sand.

Front and rear rated recovery points and a snatch strap iin case you get cheated by gravity (bogged).

The best my seirra performed on the sand was stock standard. Since lifting it and putting bigger tyres on it, its no longer a car to drive on sand without revving the guts out of it and burning the clutch up. If you decide to go big tyre route, make sure you match the gearing.

I would personally invest in bull bar, tow bar, rated recovery hooks, and stuff to make the day more comfy for you and you passenger(s).

Agree 100%.

It's Brand New don't mess with it yet. Drive it for a while and research your mods. Don't go bigger tyres unless you want to stress the case, get worse fuel economy and make the car feel like someone stole a piston. They are a good capable sand runner std
