sierra which wheels can we use ?

Post by dazgq1 »

this weeks project: putting 32s under my mates sierra
hey there , we cant seem to find any cheap f100 rims on the central coast
is there another ford rim in 15x8 that would be suitable or any other rim that will get us going for now . yes we have searched but f100 rims are the only answer we can find. any advice is appreciated ,so thanks in advance.
cheers

How cheap is cheap? King offer pretty cheap 15X8's from memory.

Careful with the offset of "F100" rims - they changed offset once the track width increased in the 80's - the ROH listing for F150 will have the same offset as Vitara, not suitable for a Sierra with 11.5" tyres.

Speedy used to do a cheap F100 offset 15X8, but I don't think they are available any more?

-18 is a good offset for a daily driver
-24 is good for a weekender
-34 is what I run and is good for a toy or track car.

Anything over -20 the cops will notice.

-18 will keep 31/10.5 15s inside the factory flairs

When I had 32 10.5 15s on -28 offset rims they stuck out by about 4cm from the factory flairs

If you talk to the small tyre shops like the mum and popps places where they don't have crazy mark ups you can get them for as low as $55 each.

Cops have never noticed mine with -28 on 33x12.5s. 3 years! 2 speeding fines in her, no defects.

IMHO i wouldnt pay more than $50 for new steel wheels. they are after all a mass produced bit of steel with a lick of paint.

Sure you didn't get -24 speedy's. Last time I checked -24 was the most offset you could get in them and that's what I run.
