[NSW] Stockton Beach Clean-up Day
Hey all.
The Stockton Beach Clean-up Day is on again.
Sunday 31st of October, between 9am and 1pm.
All participants must register at the Worimi Conservation Lands 4WD beach access at Lavis Lane or Birubi Beach.
Beach access permits waived on this day.
Bring your own sunscreen, hats and gloves.
Sausage sizzle provided.
For more information contact the NPWS Hunter Region on 02 4984 8200.
Should be a fun day out on the beach, and a great excuse to get out there too.

Re: [NSW] Stockton Beach Clean-up Day
this is a good cause.... or so it seems.
Some cynical types may think :
*that maybe instead of the national parks hiring a bunch of indigenous people to drive around doing SFA in new 4wds to "check permits" they could have bought more bins or hired a waste contractor to put a large industrial bin or 2 out there?
*and the age old question of where does my $25 permit fee go if not to cleanups etc?
*and how can they expect the public to support this sort of cleanup, when the worimi have lodged an application to sell the sand on the beach through the allegedly shonky mayor of port stephens sand business? for 2 billion dollars.

What??
I saw this info on another forum and posted it here. I thought some of us would be glad to help clean up rubbish that has been left on one of favourite playing areas.

Yes...
I've heard some people say:
Money Hungry Hippo's
lol
I have to admitt, maybe the money goes to having the Copper's at Lavis lane each saturday over summer breath testing going on the beach and coming off?

Re: [NSW] Stockton Beach Clean-up Day
i may go out there but i wouldnt commit to it.
its a fine gesture by people to help.
but if everytime one of the worimi rangers was driving along the beach they picked up some of the crap they drive over/past it wouldnt be an issue.
or as said, hire a waste contractor and put some large fire proof bins out there.
