clutch problem

hey guys

i have a 85"model 75 series and just recently i have got a squealing sound when the clutch is in,
it runs fine with the clutch out. if any of you guys could shead some light on my problem it would be greatly apreciated.

when you say in and out are you refering to the clutch or the pedal ? if the noise is when the pedal is down i.e. clutch disengaged ( out )it is most probably a siezed release bearing or possibly spigot bearing. if the clutch is really bad it could even be rivets running on steel on the flywheel or pressure plate. if the noise is when the pedal is up i.e clutch engaged ( IN ) the noise is probably not from the clutch mechanism, in that situation the clutch is just along for the ride.

It would be the throwout bearing. It can happen on anything.

Or maybe there's a possum trapped between the fork and crossmember, and pressing the clutch puts the squeeze on him. :finger:
