Gday guys i have a td42 that i have rebuilt had the works done cam refaced lifters radius ground upon starting it it was a little tappy in the top end i got it hot and readjusted valves as they where all loose it did quieten in up abit but still is slighty noisy it maybe just me as i have never had a td42 before any ideas would be appreciated cheers

I have adjusted mine time and time again they are just noisy tappets, mine were quiet for about 2 days then started to become ticky again most people I know with TD42's have noisy tappets. You get used to it.

Tey get a lot of top end wear.
Fix is to buy new rocker arms and shafts.
It also helps if you adj using a thin feeler gauge so it doesnt ride on the unworn part of the rocker arm face..

hey guys i have re adjusted valves had timing checked and i still have a noise there i have rebuilt this engine with no expence spared the only thing that wasnt checked was piston protrusion i was thinking about pulling the head back off and re checking it any one got any other ideas or know of any one with a rocker shaft wih rockers for sale cheers

rebuilt and the piston height wasn't checked :shock: :crazyeyes: I hope it's no one I know.
