Can anyone identify this diff?!?

Post by Latitude777 »

Hi folks. When I bought my 92 v6 4runner 8 months ago it came with a bunch of parts one of which was by the looks of things a rear diff. I never got round to checkin the thing out till now but need a hand identifying what it is?! Ratios etc... I may be mistaken but is it locked?! When I spin the drive input both output shafts spin the same way?! Or is it just LSD?!?! Can anyone help?! I couldn't even tell you where or what car it came from?!

Looks like a 4 pinion with LSD carrier.
You can work out the ratio by counting the number of teeth on the crown wheel and dividing it by the number of teeth on the pinion.

Just checked the teeth count.. Pinion has 10 teeth main ring gear has 43 teeth.. From what i understand that makes it a 4.30 ratio yeah?
