Put No 1 on TDC and adjust 1,2,4,5,8,9

Then put No 6 on TDC and adjust 3,6,7,10,11,12

Numbers are valves front to rear

Set them all to 14 thou or 0.35mm all hot.

Haha long converted Nissan driver. I love my diesel GQ and it helps that I'm also a mechanic.

Around 45 mins to 1 hour If you know what you're doing. That's being conservative I think mine took about half hour last time, I rushed it a bit though was running late for a wheel in the Wattagans.

Exactly what thelux said.

Takes around an hour if you take it easy.

Make sure to do the lock nuts up tight. They do come lose if they're just "nipped up".

Defference in engine noise is noticable straight away. I do mine every 10k or so.

this may stupid, but i'd rather ask and look stupid then not ask and have to pay someone

do you have to replace anything when you adjust them
i've got a workshop manual here, but it doesn't say if you need to replace any gaskets or anything when you pull the cover off

got all the tools here (including feeler gauge) just wasn't sure on that detail

Rocker/tappet cover gasket would be the only gasket to replace.

you shouldn't need to replace the tappet cover gasket every time you adjust them. Don't over tighten the bolts as I got my mech to do the last adjustment & he over tightened the bolts causing the cover to deform slightly allowing it to leak oil. tapped the cover back into shape all good now.
