Ball Joint Flip
Hi all i have a 94 tf rodeo single cab i have wound the torsion bars up on it and it gets along fine but i have heard people talkin bout a ball joint flip 2 get extra height. wat does this involve and is it hard 2 do? also is it legal
Forfiet the game before somebody else takes u out of the frame n puts ur name 2 shame, cover up ur face, u cant run the race the pace is 2 fast u just wont last
Re: Ball Joint Flip
The ball joint "flip" doesnt get you any extra height really, just regains some of the downtravel you lose from cranking tha bars right up and helps fix the camber problems you will ahve with the front wheels looking like \/
It is more of a joint relocation as all you are doing is bolting the mount of the joint to the underside of the of the control arm
no idea if its legal, most would be hard pushed to notice

Re: Ball Joint Flip
Definitely not legal. If the BJ breaks the whole wheel and hub will fall over.

Same thing will happen even if it is through the arm!!
If the bolts come loose or break, then yes it will fall out with a ball joint flip, but the lower BJ isn't through the arm from standard anyway...
Ask an engineer if you want it legal.
Go hard or go home!!!

Re: Ball Joint Flip
The post is quite reliable because recently my uncle wanted to gain an extra height too. When I found this post, I immediately tell it to my uncle what others think about it. I think my uncle would give it a shot this weekend. Anyway, thanks for sharing the info. By the way, nearby workshop says it is legal.Rodeo98 wrote:The ball joint "flip" doesnt get you any extra height really, just regains some of the downtravel you lose from cranking tha bars right up and helps fix the camber problems you will ahve with the front wheels looking like \/
