What are the things to look for when buying a gq ute? And what sort of prices Looking at one at the moment with about 500thousand ks rebuilt engine 185000 ago and has all the gear ( lift, lockers etc.) What do you guys reckon? Cheers, Luke

rear spring towers, check to see if they are bent or cracked from overloading

Thanks mate anything else to look out for guys in either gu or gq utes? Looking to spend probably a max of 25 grandish cheers guys

Like any used car the usual.
Rust. Rust. Rust. Did I mention rust. GQ's seem to be more prone to rust IMHO, but maybe thats just an age thing.
If you have 25 k to spend keep looking for the right truck, and you will be looking at GU for that money.
If its going to be a daily push for a GU. If not save some coin and get a GQ, but good GQ's are getting thin on the ground.
I own both GQ and GU coil cabs, and the GU is the sweeter on road vehicle by far.

also make sure u check the inner gaurds, firewall seams and floor pans for cracks. this is also a common problem with gq's, cause mainly from the their awesomness!
