GU NO FLEX PLEASE HELP

Post by grug »

Hey Guys, I am building up a GUIII wagon i have a 4'' lift and front and rear aj pan hard rods and and drop boxes with a superior super flex arm and ajustable uppers and heavy duty lowers and sway bar dissconnects and coil retainers with dropout cones, i also have fron diff housing support and ball supports and 15x8 pro comps with bfg muddies, My reason for this post is that I am havin trouble working out what shock length to go for as i am not gaining much flex with the supplied shocks and i dont have a ramp to drop out my shock and carry out measurements so if any one can help i would be great, i have also ugraded my turbo and chiped and intercooler and exhast and i am looking into gas injection but i'll probably kil my zd 30 not to worrie Cheers

The only proper way to get shock measurement to suit your particular truck is to remove your shocks and get it flexed up. Shane at SUspension Stuff might be able to give you a rough idea, but the only guaranteed way is as previously stated.

pretty much wat was alredy said, all i did was go 4x4byin till i found the right rock then just dissconect the shock side that is goin to hang, on 1 end and flex her up. other thing i did when working out shocks is maked the top out and bottom out point on the shock so was easy to see.

If you email me the details of your coils part numbers or specs, shock sizes , particulars of the vehicle like bullbar, winch ect, what you do with the vehicle as far as driving , a photo is worth a lot of words.
I will do my best to get it working for you.
Their is a few reasons it may not be flexing but they all have solutions .

You should be gaining more flex with a flex arm and front sway bar disconnected unless your shocks are way too short and/or coil lb rate too high. I'm maxing out my 11.5" travel shocks on the front of my GQ and there's still 5" or so more extension left in the coils.
