Hi all, am just wondering what I have to do to correct the 10% difference now that I have 35's. It doesn't bother me but the engineer seems to have a problem with it. Can I purchase a correction kit or something, if so any details of where to purchase from would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Re: GQ 35's Speedo Correction
You can also change your diff ratio's to correct your speedo
Current ride,
96 GQII TD42
Previous rides,
87 High Lux single cab. Yes she was my first!
93 80 series Land Cruiser.
Project Zook Vitara. Previously rolled! So I just had to get the 9 inch out!

Re: GQ 35's Speedo Correction
If it's the same as a GU (which I believe it is), you can change the plastic gear on the transfer case end of the speedo cable, it's about a 5 minute job and i think a new gear was about $40 from Nissan.
Re: GQ 35's Speedo Correction
There is no need to purchase a correction box. Remove the instrument binnacle, then remove the speedometer. A trim pot is fitted & using a fine Phillips screw driver, rotate the control a fraction anti-clockwise, approx 0.1 of a turn. Your speedometer reading should then be within 2 - 5 km/h of the actual, possibly reading a fraction optimistically. Your odometer will still not record acurrately.
Re: GQ 35's Speedo Correction
You can change the speedo pinion takes about half hr part no. 32703-31g15 cost me $79 from nissan last month. it brought my speedo to 4% slow which my engineer was happy with as he said the rta spec +-4% so I was right on the line. I have that marks tyre match box never opened as I used the pinion instead $150 if you want it. Unless you are going to use 2 different sets of tyres or change diff ratio's in the future I'd just go with the pinion change. Depending on the brand of 35's (they varey in size from brand to brand) of the so called 35", changing the pinion may get you closer to 0-1% out etc or it may thro you over the 4%. Apparently with the tyre match box you can dial the speedo in to be 100% correct.
