Can anyone help with Extended shackles for Feroza Wide body?

Can anyone help with Extended shackles for Feroza Wide body?
Hey all,
I've only just joined up to this board and have spent hours skimming through old posts trying to find information on extended shackles.
Can anyone help me with this?
I was planning on making a set but then when i had a look at the std ones, i noticed they are not straight pieces of metal as the top mount is wider than the width of the mount on the leaf spring.
Some posts have mentioned sierra shackles being used but i have not found any concrete info.
Has anyone made them and are able to post up info on how they did it and maybe pics?

Hey Bexi, Welcome to Outers. Sorry I haven't responded to your PM, but might as well do it here....
Wide Track shackles can indeeed be made with just a couple of flat pieces of bar and some bolts, BUT you need it to be reasonably heavy duty and preferably have a centre piece (whether welded or another bolt) to stop them twisting.
I'm pretty sure Ihave some other pics somewhere, but these were the best i could find at short notice...

Oh, and BTW, extended shackles are illegal in most states.
Having said that, mine's been through Vicroads when I came back to Melbourne and they never said a thing...

Great thanks for the pics.
It looks like each side of the shackle (flat plate) is straight up and down ... is that only because you can't see top of shackle in photo?
My shackles are wider where they bolt on the chassis than where they bolt on the leaf spring.
If yours are the same as mine. how did you bend them?
Also, how much longer are the shackles and how much lift did they give you?

Are you sure you have a Widetrack? The Narrow track shackles are wider at the top and narrower at the bottom as the leafs are narrower.
Widetrack is definitely straight up and down.
You will generally gain half the extra shackle length in lift: i.e. if you run 2" longer shackles, you should get about 1" of lift. Mine are probably a little too long.
The other thing to be wary of is shackle inversion.

I have a 1993 feroza II SXP with big flares ... that makes it a wide body right?
Re: Can anyone help with Extended shackles for Feroza Wide b
Irrelevant to the conversation at hand, but I made a flat bar bender to bend the shackles I made for the rocky...
I now need to move the shackle mounts to get proper shackle angles again...
