snake racing lift for a colorado

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
When I asked they told me at least next year as they don't get much interest in that model. I know of a few that have asked them about it. Maybe contact them in regards to it aswell to express an interest. I've been looking at other options for them.
Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
yeah i will do that ... thanks...
what other options are there for lifting them..

Do you guys offer a shock to replace the stock ones with the dodgy little shock extensions?
Thanks in advance.
Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
i would certainly like to see pics before finally buying it
Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
Aftermarket larger shocks can be used or the spacers and standard shocks can be used, this depends on the budget of the customer.
You can build the best kit possible and you wont sell it because the cost becomes to high , this is why their are different stages to most kits.
We are trying to get some offroad pictures and as soon as we get them we will put some up, we are always struggling to get images of cars done , we even went to the point of offering the cash back offer on our site but i think to date not one person has taken up that offer????.
You may ask why we dont have offroad images and that is just lack of time and not having a camera when we should have.

I carn't believe that customers don't want to earn themselves 50 bucks, let alone bragging rights from being on your website etc! Look forward to seeing what you can get hold of as far as pictures in regards to this kit. Will then make a decision on going forward and talking to you guys about this kit and some shocks.SuperiorEngineering wrote:Aftermarket larger shocks can be used or the spacers and standard shocks can be used, this depends on the budget of the customer.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
It amazes me that for the effort of sending in a few pictures of your truck when fitted with our kit you get $50 cash no questions and no one bothers. funning thing is the guys put the effort into posting them up on forums and they dont get paid for that?
The next kit we fit we will try and keep it for an extra day and build a small track with the excavator for some photos.
Dont expect radicle flex photos like we can achieve with solid axles but you wont lose any flex put it that way. The best part is the ride stays better than a normal 2 inch kit as you are not just tensioning everything up in the front end and a sprung over rear end works better than a sprung under one.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
Yeah I'm not expecting miracles with the IFS, just some more travel would be good. The SPOA is one of the major things that I like about this kit.
I think that those photos would be worth going to the trouble of a bit of track building as there a few following this kit also on the 4wdaction forum.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
Just do a 2'' suspension 2'' body way cheaper you normal get more then 2'' out of the suspension and if they are tensioning everything up then they obviously don't know what they are doing, and you don't get blocks of metal extended everything putting more strain on the shock mounts, you could have the lift and tyres and new rims just for the price of the kit and then theres fitting just a thoughtI.M.P.O.S.E wrote:Yeah I'm not expecting miracles with the IFS, just some more travel would be good. If possible can you extrain to the readers how their is extra strain on the shock mounts ? I AM VERY INTERESTED!!gunavi wrote:Just do a 2'' suspension 2'' body way cheaper you normal get more then 2'' out of the suspension and if they are tensioning everything up then they obviously don't know what they are doing, and you don't get blocks of metal extended everything putting more strain on the shock mounts, you could have the lift and tyres and new rims just for the price of the kit and then theres fitting just a thoughtI.M.P.O.S.E wrote:Yeah I'm not expecting miracles with the IFS, just some more travel would be good. Also it is a very technical job to wind up a torsion bar but i guess we dont know how to do that by your standards, maybe you should produce a u-tube video and send the link to us to examine the video so we dont mistake the difference between up and down.
Actually you sound like a 15 year old that hasn't quite got the understanding of vehicle components yet.
Just a thought maybe you should not bother posting in this post if you dont have any true facts that can be bought into this conversation that would be of any benefit to the readers.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
Mick, if I put your 5" kit on the Colorado what size tyres could I run? What tyres are on the truck in the pics on the site?

Looks like a drop kit like the Hilux Kits etc. Drops (spaces) the suspension and axles down and retains basically the same geometry and travel but sits the chassis and body 5" higher.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
Ive seen it happen before one was on a 2008 rodeo snapped both shock mounts clean off and a bt 50 snapped the torsion bar and shock mount,SuperiorEngineering wrote:If possible can you extrain to the readers how their is extra strain on the shock mounts ? it must be hard for some people theres alot of people out there that just wind them fully out, i have had it done to mine ended up costing the guy 3 and a half grand to replace the suspension kit and new tyres, guy that fixed mine he said he sets them at 40mm then winds them up don't no exactly how he did it but it works i can get a u-tube video for you if you like. And adding a block of metal between a shock may work for a poser 4wd can guarantee i wouldn't be doing a cape trip with it
Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
So you are assuming that because a shock mount and torsion bar broke on another truck then that would make our kit put more stress on those partricular components ???? I am realy suprised you even know how this kit is designed , the material used, specs ect, i think a lot of guessing on your behalf.
How does a BT50 even have a relation to a rodeo in the suspension geometry?
Any one who does their reseach for a cape trip would not be choosing a larger lift but more towards a milder 30-40mm lift, these kits are designed for guys who want more lift in their vehicle but the claims you are stating on the damage that would happen by fitting our kit couln't be any further from the truth.
As you just stated the damage is done from guys tensioning the torsion bars too much.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
To reply to the other posts , without modifying or cutting 32 inch tires are comfortable fitting, if going larger than you must pay attention to your offset of the rim and tire profile , also how much the torsion bars have been wound up will determine the up travel guard space as well.
These types of kits have been in america for 15 odd years in the hilux's and american vehicles, just have a look at the pro comp and skyjacker websites and they are still an extremely popular kit in many countries throughout the world.

Re: snake racing lift for a colorado
X2 on the attention to rim offset and tyre width for larger tyres.
I ran 33x10.5 x15 BFG MT on my Rodeo with more negative offset than normal. The tyres sat about 1.5" out from the guards but I covered them easily with flexi flares. I had no body lift but I did 'cut and shut' the arches of the front guards for clearance when turning. At full compression (hard on lower bumpstop) they just nicked the top lip of the arch (should have trimmed it all the way round).
