Easiest way is to follow someone from the pub.. Royal Hotel Manilla is generally where everyone stays as camping there are no facilities ( cept ports loo's) and that way for mid way presso's you dont need to drive back to camp!

the event site is at Mount Borah, a hangliding property.. Dave always has signs up showing where to go.. i think the road name is winbourne road .. all pretty much dirt.

What about the roads leading to Manila? Was considering coming in from the north into Manila instead of via Tamworth but didn't want to drive 3 hours off the highway just to find a road blocked from floodwaters.

Or perhaps i'm being paranoid cause everywhere i look in brisbane there's water :bad-words: !!!

I've been looking at this myself over the past few days, all appears to be good. The main 3 rivers going down will be peaking on wednesday and are well below flood levels. i have spoken to the 3 different councils & no one is expecting any issues. :)

We haven't had anywhere near the rain down here that you guys have had in Brisbane. South of the border I cannot think of any rivers near flooding that might stop you heading south, especially if you travel Warwick-Glen Inness-Inverell-Bingara-Manilla.

There is a little rain predicted here for Wed/thurs but I can't see this changing the situation at all. We will welcome you all to sunny NW NSW :)

Yes i'm a Tamworth local. It is one way you can go, you can also head out from Warwick to Inglewood and make your way south via Warialda, its not as hilly that way but the roads are not as good. If you were in any doubt about rivers, travel down the above route via the Tablelands, that way you can stop at the Stanthorpe wineries and pick up necessary competition supplies.

Well Friday night is over.

This would have been run in some of the toughest condition I have seen for a long while. I am glad there were stars in the sky by the end of the night.

Friday night hicups were Jay & Scott rolling the patrol. And Dean for breaking a couple of CV's in one climb. Both have to be repaired by tomorrows SS.

More up dates tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be fine and fun.

Cheers

What a day, 10 full size & 6 Polaris Razors started SS4 this morning. Saturday afternoon we have lost 1 4WD (charging) and 1 Polaris (work). Weather really tested me with a couple of tracks having last minute changes due to safety issues that was caused by the rain on Friday.

Just finished dinner at the Royal Hotel at Manilla, another great meal. It will be very sad & strange to leave such a great venue as Manilla foir a years break. But in saying that a break will be good. I plan to do a year about within the Tamworth area with Manilla being the other base every other year.

A real big thanks to Tom & Vicky from the Royal Hotel for many a great night and where would we be without Godfrey from "The Mountain" who has opened up his property for our use, thanks mate, because without your support the ARB XWC would not be possible.

We will be back in 2012.

Again thanks to Godfrey, Tom & Vicky and all of Manilla for your support and help over the last 4 years.

But before this break we still have to finish 2 SS on Sunday, lets see what happens then.

Congratulations to Rod & Russell Rathbone for winning the 2010 ARB XWC Series. This was a well deserved win.

Cheers, hope to see you on Sunday for the finale 2 SS.

David.
