Blue labels do. Reds start at 37 if you're talking sticky compounds, if you were ever able to get some.Wozza244 wrote:Krawler, i think they start in 35"Toecutta wrote:I am looking for the what people think is the best 35" comp tyre? Running 15" rims.

Re: Best 35" tyre?
I've been very impressed with the 35" Krawler's I've seen, but they've been on Sierras. I'd get a set if they came up at the right price (and that's big coming from me - I'm the world's #1 swamper fan)
I haven't seen creepy crawlers myself on anyhting except rock buggies (37"+)so I can't comment on them, but they do look quite good.
It's a crime you can't get comp treps in 35"
Steve.

Re: Best 35" tyre?
I've been pretty happy with my creepies, although they do take some work to get them to start bagging and do need to run very low pressures, end of the day tyres are a pretty personal thing, one bloke loves em, the next you could give em to
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

Re: Best 35" tyre?
I heard a little while back that apart from the shortage in the country for a while, they have no intention of bringing in any more 35s, only 37s and above will be available. I hope this is wrong because mine in a 35 are brilliant and I can't see myself being happy with another tyre when these wear out and don't want to upsize.TWISTY wrote:Krawler

Re: Best 35" tyre?
Krawlers are good, but are a radial and are hopeless in the mud.
Does anything worthwhile come in a sticky compound in a 35??? Apparently Pitbull Rockers do?

Re: Best 35" tyre?
Well being at the Logan Challenge this weekend, had a mate on 35" Krawlers competing with lockers etc, a mate on 35" Simex with nothing competing, a mate on 38" Maxxis and everything competing and me on 33" Simex JT2's watching. The Krawlers (along with everything else) looked hopeless compared to the Simex. But there were a lot of other tyres being used out there, and it was very very muddy, and the Krawlers really were struggling.SIM79 wrote:WTF?? If you are specifically after good mud tyres, Simex are the go. For rock and loose dirt, Krawlers are good.
EDIT: When I say Krawlers, I am talking BFG Krawlers, not creepys. Just to save confusion.

Re: Best 35" tyre?
I agree BFG Krawlers aren't the best mud tyre but I wouldn't call them hopeless as the tread pattern is very open and cleans well in rainforest mud.Ricko wrote:Well being at the Logan Challenge this weekend, had a mate on 35" Krawlers competing with lockers etc, a mate on 35" Simex with nothing competing, a mate on 38" Maxxis and everything competing and me on 33" Simex JT2's watching. Silverstone's are the best tyre I have seen for mud they are heaps more aggressive than pedes.

You're probably right, they're not hopeless, but when compared to the Simex, they really did look ordinary. I would never recommend them for mud work. It was a facinating weekend to compare tyres in the mud, lots of tyres, lots of power, lots of mud, Krawlers weren't the pick of the bunch by a long shot.
Again, just to clarify, I don't hate em, Krawlers are great for rock and loose stuff...

Re: Best 35" tyre?
Factor in weight of wheel and tyre as well...I was blown away when a mate told me that his 17" beadlock rims and 37" sticky treps were pushing a touch over 70kgs a corner.....Thats getting into the insane category.
