Lift heights

Post by dave »

Vehical heights,
Was interested to know what hight everyone was sitting at. I am looking to know the distance from the ground to the bottom of chassis rail directly below centre of front door.
Cheers......
Now i'll have to measure mine :D

Interesting i am sitting at about 630mm from memory,
Come on guys theres heaps more of you out there! i wont to compare the hight of my truck compered to others.
The reason ive ask for this measurement is because theres a lot of people running mixed spring combs that would not know the lift & this gives a standard to compare all.

Fark, Yarno... either your 205r16s are 340mm bigger diameter than mine, or you've got a four inch spring lift and three inch body lift that you forgot to mention...

It wasn't my original post, but it might help us newbies who are looking at suspension options if the replies to Dave's post specified what mods got you all to the height you quote.

F#%^k thats low, But i like it.
I belived that i was pretty low but you kill me on 35s, that would take me up to around 670 on 38s which is what i wont to end up on, that or 37s.

the body lift wont affect the distance from the ground to the bottom of the chassis rails, but is a shit load of lift

im running 2" dropped hangers 2" shackles and rears / 2.5"lifed fronts combo pack
rear is still under devolopment

To look at it it looks high but i think its due to the 60mm body lift and also the cut out guards. I wish i could remove the body lift but i dont have this choice with my bar work. I have also lowered the engine as low as possible. It actually hits the front diff housing at full stuff just slightly.

Oh yeah the tyres dont rub the body anywhere :D

lift heights

Post by Pesky Pete »

660mm on 37" Creepys. Is too hgh really but since it hasnt been wheeled yet, I am hopining it will sag a fair bit as the rear coils get some mumbo. Running Hilux Rears on standard mounts up fron, and a custom coil rear end. Coils are 4" lift rangie coils in soft rate. So they should settle a bit and fairly quickly.

All its got at the moment is a droped front crossmember, extended shackles, and a coily rear end..... maybe it's too high, but this is the way I got it!!! so will fix later.

Mine is 490mm with the road tyres on (245/70R16), with the play tyres it'd be about 520mm (235/85R16).
One thing surprised me, while there are quite few taller than me, I'm not as far out of the league as I thought I would be when I first read this thread.
