$1000 to spend at arb

Hi all i have a new jimny and with it i got a $1000 ARB voucher i intend on using the jimny on sand /beach mainly ,what do you think would be a wise purchase at ARB i was thinking a tow hitch and some recovery points would be a good investment.

$1k at ARB... That should get you a tyre deflator.

$999 worth of stickers. It's a suzuki, there is nothing ARB can sell you to make it better on the beach.


With a grand to spare I'd consider:
Option 1.) UHF / recovery package with snatch strap, shackles, drag chains (for firewood) / Spotlights.
Option 2.) ARB Fridge/Freezer (You'll need to add a few dollars).
Option 3.) Side/rear mounted awnings to give the family some shade for warm afternoons.

And an ARB Ezy Deflator. They're awesome.

Do they sell electronic rust prevention at ARB? That'd be what I'd get for the beach.

X2 and may be if you can squeez it in a hand held UHF

i was thinking more about roos etc on the roads that get him there. It also provides a very good front recovery point.

Yet you choose to go discuss a suspension lift with them. Something that mostly likely won't fit the budget you specified and is of zero use for the task you mention.

I guess the upgraded suspension will assist in all round driving not just on the beach .. plus if he winds up "airing it out" the suspension may assist in keeping the rest of the car in one piece with the landing.

Ok i think a bullbar ia a good idea however i think it will sag my suspension at the front , so the suspension lift would counter that hence the suspension upgrade to allow for the bull bar the suspension lift is $ 1100 fitted so that is really on target i chuck in the extra thats fine , as for leading a horse to water i thought to ask opinions in case there was a better way to go ,i didnt realise that asking advice made it compulsory to take it . I guess every single time you have asked for advice you have taken it , me myself i use it to guide my decisions . Thanks for the replies

Have you done any 4wding before and do youhave any experience sand driving? If not then maybe a smarter way to go is take your stock 4wd out a few times and fund out for yourself what things you will need.

Things like airing your tures down will have way more impact on performance in the sand than a lift or bullbar. Asking a salesman what you should spend your money on is a sure fire way to get an expensive gadget when maybe a thingumajig was a better option.

Don't be so thin skinned. You asked for advice then decided on something totally different to what several folks recomended .. there is nothing wrong with that, it is just a little amusing. I would go tthe big tickety items as well .. easier to come up with a few hundred here and there that $1000+ in my experiance.

Very true, the only two roos I've ever hit were on the way to the beach.

yeah it was a suzuki offer the car was 19990 with the $1000 voucher so that was pretty cool
