are there aftermarket jimny springs

does any company make aftermarket springs for the 98-02 jimny? im not looking for any lowering springs or any springs that usus a lift kit or anything likr that, i wanna keep my origional height but i just want a stiffer/fatter springs so as to stiffen up my suspension abit..

Most spring manufacturers do them, I know lovells do at least also tough dog. Ring your local 4wd shop or suspension specialist.

Are you still running the original shock absorbers Blitz? Most people don't really want heir car to ride more stiffly, they really want a more controlled ride, which is a result of properly valved shock absorbers.

It's fairly difficult to increase spring rate without lifting the car (at least a little)

A stiffer spring has a higher rate. A higher rate spring will compress less under the same weight, so to make a stiffer spring but with the car at the same height will mean the spring has to be made shorter overall.

This isn't ideal as it will tend to result in the springs going loose when you flex your suspension.

Most suspension manufacturers would suggest that you will ne dup with 30-40mm of lift once heavy duty springs are fitted.

thanks for all the responses guys..ill take them into consideration..one question though, are there any manufacturers of jimny springs in the US? im actually from the caribbean ( trinidad and tobago) and if i can locate a dealer in the US it would be abit easier...maybe a brand like eibach or tein, cusco, etc.. strangely the suzuki is supposed to be jap. but things are veryy limited in the states...anyone have any idea hit me up, thanks for all the responses.

The Jimny was never released in the US so it would have to be custom or from another vehicle. They are Japanese, don't get what you mean by that bit

well i know there are some of the older jimny's in the states ( samurai ) and idk if it is safe the assume that most parts for the jimny and the samurai are interchageable? cuz if it is, then idk why the US doesnt have some aftermarket or much OEM parts...the most i have located out of the US are fog lights, HID's and a few lug nuts, anything else is out of the UK and Aussi..even most ebay dealers who supply stuff for the jimny are based in the UK..i have been even checking up on some japanese sites and still no luck, thats what i meant by saying its a jap.vehicle and most stuff for it are made in the UK/ Aussi..

jimny and sierra (samurai) are very different. being where you are ordering online internationally will be your only choice, unfortunately for you the australian dollar is worth a fair bit right now, so i wouldnt bother buying it from here.

alien^^^ oh ok i didnt think they were much different at all, but thanks for the heads up..yeh i know, im trying to not buy it out of aussi cuz the rates are high..i have already ordered a poly.bushing kit from super-pro out of aussi and its comming up to around $4,300TT dollars, which is around $660 Us dollars..so if i could get something out of the states or anywhere else that would be good..but if i had to get those bushing hand made it would have came up more, so thats why i went with the kit instead, and there are no other companies making poly bushings for that vehicle besides super pro and white line...( well that i know of)

The US only got the leaf sprung Samurai. Other markets like Australia got the leaf sprung Sierra (same as the Samurai), then a coil version then in 98ish the coil Jimny was introduced.
