Can you increase windscreen wiper speed?

Post by PLAU »

Hi

Can you increase wiper speed on the 100 series?

I just bought one and I tested the wipers on full speed and although they are reasonably fast, they are slow compared to my old commodore ute.

I am curious if you can simpy make them faster?

I wonder why they would make a car like the landcruiser with "not the fastest" wipers? I would hate to be up the top end in a real rain storm with these

I compared it to a mates hilux and they are about the same speed so they are not faulty.

Thanks

Phil

High speed is fine, I've never had a problem with it and barely ever go above the low speed setting anyway. Try it on high with someone spraying a hose on the window, see what you think.

And no, you can't make them go any faster without swapping the motor out of something else.

Of course you can make them go faster, Just ramp up the voltage. I did that once to an electric window setup by putting in a 12 to 24volt invertor. Turned the windows into potential guillotines.

How long a wiper motor will last like that is anybodies guess though.
