I posted this on Patrol and thought it might help some on this side...
I know it's much easier to just block it but why keep parts that aren't needed and get in the way of your next mods?
This is what I've done to remove my EGR. And it was scary when I opened the thing, there was so much crap in the intake, SCARY! This was on my '93 GQ TD42 (Safari).
All the crap removed (and there's probably a few more bits attached to the truck, just got to figure what they are first...)
The intake blocking plate.
The exhaust blocking plate which allowed to mount my EGT probe for my pyro gauge.
The intake neck where I removed the inside butterfly plate and the outside control gears. (only kept the shaft inside the neck). In the pic you can see the butterfly still partly attached to the shaft.
Some of the crap I removed from the intake.
Don't forget to plug your vacuum lines previously related to your EGR.
The mystery part? This is between the firewall and the block and is related to the EGR. Haven't removed it yet but if someone could tell me what it does that'd be great!

On my old truck it did a big difference but not as much on this one. Might have to do that it's a low
Km truck already running well or that It works better and I can't tell... On the long run though it will make a difference and on the short run it made me realize I really need to clean my intake manifold!
