I just finished putting the applause motor into my feroza over the weekend.
When i bought the feroza with a blown up motor, id had a pod filter installed and did not come with the std filter setup.
I bought a std filter setup from the wreckers as the pod filter is no good for $WDing when water is involved.
When i finished putting the applause motor in, I put the pod filter on just to do some road testing.
WOW! It went reallt well.
I wasn't sure if it was just intake noise that made it sound good so i put the std filter setup on to see if i could notice a difference.
Yep - It is heaps slower with the std filter on ... not much difference in bottom end but in top end of rev range, the pod filter makes a huge difference!
I'm thinking about trying to adapt the pod filter into the std airbox now

The pod filter will also let everything bar Cows, and large rocks, into your engine.
Best leaving the standard setup on there.

Even with mostly road driving, if you check your intake after the pod filter, you'll fine a layer of fine dust. Don't go there.....

Yes it sounds louder.... and cost money.......so it MUST make more power.
Coming from an auto enginnering background and lots of dyno work, any power gain of less than around 8% won't be readily detectable buy "bum on seat" testing, and a pod on a feroza isn't going to make that sort of difference.
i've actually detuned a vehicle with the lid removed from the airbox to make more noise and had it test driven.
A "goes much faster" was the "result". The look on the drivers face when we showed them that its was in fact significanly less powerfull and slower was priceless.

I agree completely with dirt passing through which is why i got rid of it straight away.
My car does have a high flow exhaust and i guarantee you that it goes heaps better with the pod filter. I'm a mechanic and have worked on/driven enough vehicles and have enough experience to be able to notice noise vs power. Maybe maximum power is similar but it definitely revs quicker with the pod on
It's simple... more/quicker air in and out creates power (in short)
However, I will definitely be leaving the std filter setup on as i also plan to make a snorkel for the car. The pod filter is useless offroad and i don't think i can argue with other peoples' experience from finding dust inside intake just from road use

I ran a pod for a while on my old motor for a while. I wasn't too concerned as I had to replace the motor anyway after the previous owner had driven it for 70,000km pinging off its head. The pod did make a noticeable difference, but I wouldn't do it on a motor I planned getting any longevity out of.

I used a pod on the Charade for Drag runs. If I ran a filter at all.

Well there is a Feroza in the USA used as a drag car 
However, just as a minor detail its running a V8 and no feroza mechanicals and is RWD only and and and.... but there's hope for the Feroza diehards yet .

i ran a k&n for a bit cuz on their website they say that their filters are the best and they let in less dust than normal filters by like 150% or something. I remember I cleaned it and oiled it the day before it left to be used as a reconnaissance vehicle during a disastrous music festival here in sa but once I got home and saw how dirty it got i pulled it off and never put it back on again. Also I found that it would run really well on cold summer nights, but on hot summer days the car just seemed to hate life. I dont think im ever gna put it on again and I hope i didn't do too much damage.

I tested both my F300 Rocky and Feroza with a new K&N pod filter with no gains. Lots'a noise with less power on the hills and no extra oomph, when you actually checked the speedo on the flat roads...a total waste of money! The only good thing...I didn't pay for it. lol Guess what I have gone back to?
