So i'm aiming for something like this.... bonnet scoop optional (have a close look)
So far with lpg and box fitted....
Next will be exo and spare mount - the spare will prob live on the tray most of the time, but i'll be able to move it when i want a full flat tray...

Here's a few of the box - sort of extracabish, seats can't really move much further back, but you can reach back a touch the floor of the box when sitting in the front, so NO more crap crowding you in the front when there's 2 of you in there, and can go away with a bag of clothes and not worry about rain...

hey guys,
i have been wondering lately, and has relevance to the last post, if you think if would be possible, if your creative enough with the sheet metal, to ad an extra half foot to the cab of the 75?? so the seats can go back a bit further, and like above, you can store a little more, like a bag for two people with three days worth of clothes,
and even if you do do it, would it be a legal modification or would it need to be engineered? but the main part is getting around the flange where the window panel joins the tub.

I think being a full chassis vehicle you can modify a fair bit of the bodywork, speaking to an engineer along the way of course. There are companies who do the extra cab conversions to the 75's. The main thing you don't want to play with are seatbelt mounts.Wambat wrote:hey guys,

I have seen a home job where they've built an extracab section about 100mm or so deep (it drove past so not sure exactly), but about 100mm in from all edges (roof/sides) so the seats could move further back, but leaving the rear corners original. I can draw something dodgy in MS Paint if you want...
But you can definitely do an extra cab - i was halfway through - maybe quarter way - through building my HJ47 into an extra cab, but it just dragged on too long....

Just fitted my front 4.56 diff gears (to match the rear) and Lockrights front and rear.
Very keen to get it out bush and see how it goes.

sounding good mate ,hows the diffgears go now with the 35's and 1fz, i found when i went to 315s with std ratios it wouldnt hold/throw roosters in sand from 3rd no more.now you just need a turbo and front mount nowStackson45 wrote:Sure have!

I've got a sprintex supercharger, but it will prob go on our 105 cruiser. Love the diff gears - it sits on 2400rpm in 5th @100kmh, our 105 standard sits on 2600rpm @100kmh, so it's alright. I wanted to keep low range at least as low as standard (running 31's at least) , and also not have to down gear up hills to much if i've got a couple of dirt bikes and camping gear on the back. Now that i've finally got 4wd (matching ratios) i'm keen to test it out. 4wding with the longer wheelbase will be interesting...

Did your 75 come with 4.11'sor 4.3's std mate?
on your id tag can you see what box its says you have h150 or h151?
Also your rig has the std cruiser snorkle ay ,on your air box the intake pipe to the air box do you know roughly what size it is,its the bit that gos from the airboxto snorkle .as i dont have a snorkle just the bit from the air box that gos into the gaurd that pipe is about 3.75inch , i bought a snorkle and air box for my rig but its from a diesel and the airbox pipe to snorkle is only about 2.5 inch , so i was wondering if the 4.5 utes that have a snorkle use the diesel air box or have a bigger pipe to snorkle

I haven't had much time for it at the moment, from the quick look i had all the pipes, pulleys and brackets appear to be there for the blower, will also have to find out how this will or won't work with the lpg.thats rite ,have you got all the bits for the blower ,a 105 would be awsum with the blower,got a few questions about your rig mate

My 75 came with 4.11's.
The tag on the ute says H150F for the gearbox.
It looks like (from holding a tape measure in the general vicinity) the airbox inlet is 3" pipe, so the ID of the rubber coming from the snorkel would be 3".
I'm assuming mine is the standard petty airbox.

HI FELLA'S, I'M PRETTY SURE THE AIRBOX WENT TO THE LARGER INLET FROM '90 (1HZ) ON AND WAS THE BIGGER SIZE FOR BOTH THE 1HZ AND THE 1FZ. THE BODY OF THE FACTORY SNORKEL WAS ALSO BIGGER FOR THESE MODELS.

I have a hzj snorkle air box and hzj lid and they are the same as my brothers fj73 size so from what I gather the hj,hzj and fj have same airboxs and fzjs run bigger I also checked out a hdj 79 snorkle setup and it didn't look as big as petrol one , I thought turbo dieSel would be biggest,
this a hzj,fj,hj 75 lid next to fzj 79 lid
