best batteries for comp truck
just wondering what everybody else was using. deep cycle, gel cell or normal cheers col
Re: best batteries for comp truck
For a comp truck you want something that is reliable and if you're using it for winching then you want high CCA. I used Optima batteries because they are smaller than most of the others and they are dry cell so they don't spill if you roll over.

Re: best batteries for comp truck
I second the optima... particularly due to the lack of spillage.

Re: best batteries for comp truck
Oh, by the way. If you get the blue top for your main battery it has extra terminals to attach accessories to so you don't have to clog up the main leads. But the yellow tops are the better ones for winching.

^^^^^^^^
As they said.
No spill, great power for winching.
No one's mentioned so far how quickly Optima's accept charge and get back to full power.
