Im considering putting a 3rx into my LN65. Its currently got a 2L 2.4diesel in it.
Would I use my current gearbox??
Im assuming from reading in here, that my best bet is to find a 2wd Hilux Workmate, and take the engine, bellhousing, all wiring out and go from there.

hahah steve, i have listend and learnt, money comes into play with apprentices, even if i had of ben able to afford the high steer arms and not the cross over one, i still would have been defected cause there was no engineers report, just mod plate, which i thought and had heard that the mod plate was all i needed from certain people. and you cant talk about defects your car isnt even on the road, think your find in your hand book alot of people you no have been defected

also it doesnt need to be remod plated or change to high steer, just need another engineer (3rd party as DOT calls it) to sign a bit a paper, n so happens i have a family friend

yeah money does come into play thats why u save ask dylan, regardless of wether ur an apprentice or not. i'd go the buick v6, i had one for my work car to tow a trailer and tools around . i was getting 14l per 100 k or better around town with the car trailer and tools weighing 2200kgs before i put carpet on the trailer.

not bad specs, made more power than a 308, its about 50 kg lighter than a 308, pretty sturdy engines that last for ever and take to low psi very well
any one got a adapter laying around for one?

I must ad as a former commo owner the vs ecotec is a very nice engine, in a vt commodore they are known to get 800 clix to a tank of mainly highway driving, but they have something in the ECU that auto adjusts to suit your acceleration, the fuel maps drastically change, so if you decide you want to flog its rings out then the ECU will tell the engine to use more fuel because this clown is a lead foot. In yobbo commo terms, you drive me like shit then ill use more fuel. Thats why if you own a commo and you start it up the next day or just after you have got home from a hard tyre frying flogging the exhaust will smell very rich. In some cases it may even not start the first crank... But this is my experience.
