Link to list of mod platers
I'm chasing the link to the list of QLD mod platers. I've heard there is a list somewhere just not sure where. I assume it's on the queensland transport site but i can't find it.
Planning on ringing a few to see their opinions on engineering sprung over. I've been told it can be done although the general consensus is that it can't but i figure i'm better of talking to someone actually in the know. Or can somebody definently assure me it can't be engineered.
Thanks!

yea im pretty sure it can't be done, but if it's a suzie by any chance, i think you put hilux diffs under it ( standard spring over) and that passes as is factory,

I am too understand the same but that line don't work on a zook as the track increase is too wideloosecanon wrote:yea im pretty sure it can't be done, but if it's a suzie by any chance, i think you put hilux diffs under it ( standard spring over) and that passes as is factory,

Re: Link to list of mod platers
When I spoke to my mod plater about it, he said:
The only way you could possibly get it approved in QLD was if you keep the vehicle the same height before and after (i.e. fit much flatter springs).
The rules specifically state you cannot use SOA as a means of lifting a vehicle.

Re: Link to list of mod platers
Yeah i have read that but i had a few people telling me you can get it plated, so i thought it was worth an ask. I see what your saying with a differential that uses factory sprung over. Yeah the idea wasn't to have a rediculously tall truck more a case of being able to run a flatter setup without losing too much ground clearence.TWISTY wrote:CAN'T be done.

Thanks for the info, back to the drawing board!
Cheers

Re: Link to list of mod platers
FJ45, so really any factory sprung over diffs are going to be too small. I am aware you can get sprung under to work very well but i'm just sourcing some other setups first. I'm prepared to throw some $$ at it if its going to be the right setup.loosecanon wrote:what type of truck did you have there??
Re: Link to list of mod platers
i wonder if you could use 9 inch f-truck gear. dana 60 front. i believe there sprung over from factory. and dana front ends are coil. i dont think you'd be able to do it with the width they sit from factory. you would have to shorten them. that would be the best way.
