Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
Interco have temporarily/permanently? ceased production of LTB's...
I really had my heart set on the LTB206's but now it seems I'll have to make another choice.
Can anyone recommend an agressive mud tyre that is good on rocks in a SKINNY 35" for a LWB Sierra?
Would prefer no wider than 10.00" tread width.
Cheers, Jas.

centerpedes come in a 10.5. Never heard of any bad comments that were not onroad related.

Sorry, I should have mentioned, I currently run 32x9.5 ET pedes and while they are awesome in mud/clay/anything loose, they are next to useless on rocks.oldmate wrote:centerpedes come in a 10.5. Never heard of any bad comments that were not onroad related.
Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I'd be interested too, as I've not seen too many 35inch tires that aren't at least 12.5 inch wide (other than truck tires). BFG and Interco super swampers both list a 33x10.5 though, if you aren't dead set on a 35 inch. (your name could be throwing me off ) Not sure how readily either are available though as tall skinny tires don't seem to be the in-thing.

Have a look at the Silverstone MT 117 extremes then. The copy of the pedes. 35x10.5 Deeper and wider tread pattern to the simex and a softer tread compound. Exellent on rocks and in mud. Crappy on sand as they bite in too much and just dig holes.

FYI I'm lead to believe they measure under 34" and size varies tyre to tyretoughnut wrote:Have a look at the Silverstone MT 117 extremes then. Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I didn't have any problems with sizes on the tires I used. I went through 20 in 2 years for competition and play. Didn't wear out I just had fresh tires for comps. First batch weren't too good though. But the second batch were much better.dogbreath_48 wrote:FYI I'm lead to believe they measure under 34" and size varies tyre to tyretoughnut wrote:Have a look at the Silverstone MT 117 extremes then. Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I had a good run with super swamper Q-78's shoehorned under my zook.
can get them to suit 15 & 16 inch rims.
on rock I found they worked best when "stetched" on to beadlocked 10" wide rims and run about 7psi front and 5psi rear. (on a zook)

2X that!I had a good run with super swamper Q-78's shoehorned under my zook.
Super swampers are my tire of choice, crazy mud clearing ability and can work on rocks just as good (see profile pic).

Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
Thanks guys but I'm trying to stay away from the TSL's as they don't have sidebiters like LTB's do.
My last set of tyres were 33" Silverstone MT117 Extremes and they were a lot better all round than these Simexs but still not brilliant on rock.
Dunno what to do.... Why can't they make sticky Treps in 35" or skinny BF Krawlers?

can you cut some siping into the tread on these to improve grip on rocks?want33s wrote:Thanks guys but I'm trying to stay away from the TSL's as they don't have sidebiters like LTB's do.

Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
nope - the sidebiters are just way too voidy and the center blocks too nobbly. If you joined the center blocks together here and there and slightly closed the side lugs theyd be great on rock - but then no where near as good in mud =)

Heard very good things about the Bf Km2 on a zook. Not the skinnyest tyre but skinny than the crawlers.
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I didnt know they stopped the LTB, i ran them for a while and loved them.
Doesnt leave a lot of options unless you can track some down interstate?
Not keen on the 34x9.5 Narrow S.S?
If your not hell bent on a true 35 what about Creepies in a 255/85/16?
They measure about 33.5 x 10?

Currently on 32.8's and want at least 35.0"
Creepies would be nice but I'm on Internally locked 15" rims. Too much $$$ to upgrade tyres, locks & rims all at once.
Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I'm going through the same process as well jas, there is nothing worth putting on under 12" wide.
we need sticky treps at 35x 10.5 but alas not to be.

85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers, ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I'm also waiting on a set of LTB's, production is to continue - as to when my supplier does not know.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
Re: Recommend a SKINNY, agressive 35" tyre
I think in reality, your not going to get an allrounder tyre without sacrificing something. Thats why I have 3 complete sets of tyres. Super Swampers for winter, Copper STTs for summer. and original rims and tyres for road (ie rollerskate look). My last set of tyres were 33" Silverstone MT117 Extremes and they were a lot better all round than these Simexs but still not brilliant on rock.
I got a good trolley jack, just need a rattle gun and a man to operate it, and then it becomes not trouble at all.
