My truck is ready and waiting, i have just about 2 x every component on my truck for spares except motor and gearbox, if i could get a motor and gearbox in 4 weeks i'd bring them to. last year i brought a tonne of spares with me and used none of them, but i think if we had made it to stage 4 that might of been different, this years toperi will be my last comp for 3 months so i'll be keen to bring it home busted up if i can.
So i'm wondering how much have you's changed the tracks ? I'm not sure which track you's are refering to as billy goats in the pics, i'm hoping you's have not changed the end of stage 4 as it looked very knarly last year and i would love to try and drive it.
Could we have a hint, have there there been some changes to every track or are some the same as last year, i think all i have got at the moment is the start of stage 1 has been changed and the pics of billygoats which as i said i'm not sure what stage that is.

I've had my share of cement and i'm hard enough, it's gunna come down to if my truck is hard enough, last year it was only the very last rock on stage 4 that i thought i just can't see my truck getting up there.
I really hope we get to that part of the stage with a couple of minutes to spare so i can trash the hell out of it, giving it a go whether it gets up there or not !!
Thanks for the reply fella, i can't wait to get there.

is there any ruling on flares?

Blackdog 4wd
Shawn the last two they have asked for some attempt at a flare but not as strict as Willowglen or Nissan Trials. I just read my rule sheet and couldn't find anything on it.
GU 42td wagon for touring
GU ute for the fun stuff

We are not very strict on flares, as long as you have some kind of mudguard we will be happy.
I started sending out competitor passes via e-mail tonight, i will finish all in the next couple of nights. So make sure you check your e-mail shortly. Each pass has a code on it unique to each team that will be marked off at the front gate so each code can only be used once.
Good luck, see you all in a few weeks.

Just going through last years pics , the green chop down hilux from macarthur4x4 club has no flares or mud guards. As mine is similar, will i pass scruitneering?
buddha, you can see the lux has factory guard on the front. thats covering the tyre.
the rear cant see in that photo and i cant recall what matts lux looked like then. but as long as you make an attempt the guys are very reasonable with things from previous years.

this is the back of mine from last yr. there was some sort of guard but when your tyre stick out the back of the car a foot its hard to fit guards.
As for the front there was no rule last yr to say tyres had to be under the guards (i.e. nissan trials etc...) and i dont think they have changed it this yr either. You cant really get 42's with 3inch wheel spacers under the guards in a lux...

After a huge working bee today the tracks are finished, they all look real good and we have started putting in posts etc, its starting to look like a comp is about to happen. All the tracks have hardened up a little, you guys will need to bring your A game as there wont be any room for a casual weekend drive. Oh and bring spares!!!

What he said. These were the rules last year and will be the same this year.
Those who choose to drive in the mud do so because they can't drive the rocks.
Ferret and jimmy testing track 2.
We had a working bee today and you blokes had better harden up!. Ferret screwed off a rear axle within ten minutes of unloading his Hilux from his trailer and I wasnt much better havning a fr diff failure in the same amount of time.
