2" Spring lift for Toyota Bundera
Ok as you may or may not know Robbies has offloaded his POS to my cuz.
First thing is first, Spring lift - 2" is what we are aiming to achieve, what springs from what (front &/or rear) will give around this amount of lift ?
Secondly, 33" Muds - Davy wants to fit his 33x12.5 BFG muds on it (off his old cruiser). They are gonna be mounted on some 10" wide rims with 3.5" backspacing. What are your recomendations on cutting the flares if it is needed or not ?
Thanks
Anthony

springs
Joel, I think you know how well the spacers work now after the weekend.
As for the 2" spring lift , the 80 series spring sets are naturally 2" higher, and the 33" tires- I stick with 32" because I can still spin the wheels climbing rocks whereas the 33"s load the motor up much more and you just don't seem to have the power in the required wheel spin............................now if you had a turbo deisel or gear reduction set------------------different story

Joey's Jinker II
its only half a inch more leverage. i dont think you would even notice. thats like saying i can spin the tyres with 4.11s where i cant with 4.1s
if by your comment you mean 33s have more width, then wouldnt that mean 33s have more grip maybe. then you get more power to the ground and not wasting it by spinning?
just put the springs in and fit the 33s flex it up, see if it hits. not every car is the same. get rid of the swaybars too. they do nothing but waste flex.

dont waste your time!
I have run 34x11.5" simex JT2's on that thing (they measure nearly 35" tall)..
you do not need to lift it to fit.. the only place they will rub is on the rear chassis (read: just touch the chassis on full stuff)..
put the 33" tyres on and drive it! lower = better in a bundy.. they are already too tippy as is..
if you fit 2" springs, even at full stuff, the springs will still compress all the way and you will have the rub problem.. you need to extend bumpstops to stop rub..
just drive it

I looked under the front and maybe I had my eyes shut but I didnt think it had a sway bar ? ? ? I will have a nother look and tel davy not to worry bout the spring lift for now
At full stuff in the rear the shock is still no where near compressed where as at full stretch it is limited buy the shock (it seems to have abit mor freedom at down stretch. So i might take the shocks out (current ones are farked anyways) and flex it and take some measurements then find the longest monroe shocks to suit (cheap and easy)
Then I gonna have to hit Sam up for some holey bushes to suit (front & rear) or maybe a-frame it in the rear
No holey bushes available from sam, And David still wanted to do the 2" spring lift, so he got the springs from Kings.
Last night I disconnected the shocks (we grinded them off ) and took out the passenger side spring and checked the flex un restricted (except for radius arms) and was suprised at the limited flex in up travel. Got some measurments and some old shocks and bunged them in with the two inch lifted springs, we havnt done the back end yet, but let me tell you the front has a excelent ride.
We gonna check out the gains in flex and movement of the front setup b4 I announce/reccomend what shocks were used.
We stoopidly never took b4 pics of the flex but I am sure Robbie will have some lying around we did do a small rock ramp test but never got accurate measurements, thou front was about 45cm off the ground.
I am putting the rear springs in this arvo and gonna ramp it with out the shocks in and get a measure ment
EDIT: After looking at the rear shocks i was suprised as the passenger side is pin to eye and the drivers side is eye-eye
I might put a thread in the members section for davids new POS
