Ra rodeo td loss of power

Post by davidwalton »

Hi all just trying to find some help for a mates rodeo. 04 RA rodeo td and everytime he gets it wet the motor looses all power and the turbo will barely spool.
He has a snorkel and is not getting any water inside the intake, is there any sensors or something along those line that would cause this.
Last time it happened he was just hosing some mud off the motor while running and the was enough to cause the problem. (he thinks it was on the drivers side that did it)
Thanks.

This happened to mine. The local holden dealer fitted a thingo near the air filter to stop this from happening. Mine was still under warrenty at the time.

not 100% sure but it used to vent to atmosphere and now its attached to the air duct down stream from the air filter.

Its the VSV valve that controls the EGR.

The early original 1's are a 2 pipe system and the bottom is vented to atmosphere. It has a guaze that gets clogged up with sh1t.

The fix is a new VSV that has 3 pipes and an adaptor to vent it to the filtered intake pipe.

as above

apparently this issue was fixed from "05, and apparently Holden do have a kit to retro fit into the older models to overcome this problem
