When I said looked, I meant machine open, but tks for the offer, I will have a look at the intakes at Halls to compare.

Here is a pic of the proposed GU GQ 2 Core.

Hey guys,

Thanks for getting back on track...

I'm still intrigued in the Laminova setup and it bodes well "It's about time I looked at the Yota mainold" (Matt), that you are looking into this further.

I just don't have the equipment or skills to go down the DIY path that you did Zoltan.

Cheers,

Ross.

New radiator (heat exchanger) going into mine along with the new turbo before the end of the year! (I may or may not have made a noisy, grindy mess of the old 1 LOL)

Should be interesting to see how it does with the new turbo from JPC :)

Sorry for the thread dredge, but what ended up happening to this?
How many of these coolers are out there now?
Are they still a success story?
Was there ever one made for the Toyota 1HD motors?

If I ever pull my finger out and get started with version 2 there will be 1 for a 1hd motor. I have every thing done except for the cooler. Have search in the Toyota section.

Bit of a grave dig... there are still cores on ebay (USA) for $59 ea... how would one go about sourcing end caps and building the housing these days?

Would like this type of cooler on a 1hdft.

PM me, I'll see what the go is for parts (tubes, end caps etc), but the fabrication you'll have to get done yourself.

ahaha nah she goes alright mate ;)

Interestingly, I noticed the crack Sunday, got it welded Tuesday, and by Tuesday the front had cracked too, in the exact same spot, was just starting to go.

This spells bad things me thinks :(

aluminium plates will do that. Constant thrumming and it eventually fatigues. A good run though all the same :)

what do you mean a small ridge?

I welded the crack, it has held, the bastard has cracked elsewhere.

Looking like I will pull it off and reweld the whole fecking thing as a temp fix until I have time to sort out a new setup.

Suggestions?! :)

I just thought I would follow this up and say since I have welded the whole thing up, I have done probably another 4 or 5 thousand KM and had no further issues, so it seemed the very attractive welding had reached an age it needed touching up, but the manifold itself seems to be good still.

Cheers, Andy
