i have just purchased a fj45 and i am wanting to do a leaf spring over on it.
im totally new to the 40 series as i previusly owned a bundera then rolled the poor thing .
so now i have FJ45 with a 350 chev running on gas any tips on what i will need to do the spring over would be much appreciated.
i have googled for info but it seems no one has a " what to do thread" i have noticed people complaining about drive shafts etc but no solutions on what to use etc
There are a few other issues that could or should be addressed at the same time that the spring over happens. Apart from custom drive shafts, the shocks will have to be remounted. bump stops adjusted to suit the new ride height and most importantly have you considered power steering with cross over or hi steer arms? While you can do a spring over without the hi steer its better to do it while your on the job. The next thing is the swivel hub rotation to get your caster angles correct. If this isnt done the thing will steer poorly.

That link above, in the first reply, is by the most well explained and written guide to SOA that i have found on the interwebs. If you can't figure out what you need to do after reading that then it is probably in everyones best interest that you find some assistance. SOA's are not easy/fun/cheap way of getting lift, however done properly they can be effective.
