Well done to the TLCC crew another great event with the night stage a ripper of an idea to kick things off.

The rain on and off was just enough to make things interesting in the Sunday events. The rock garden with it's tyre pit really mixed things up depending on how wet the pit was when you went in.

Pretty impressive to to see the ACT teams take the top 4 places. I wonder if this is indicative of the available Sydney venues getting less and less.

The individual results were a Charles-a-thon. Congrats to Charles and Scuba from AT for second, and Charles and Domenic for taking the top spot. Some great consistent driving by you guys sees you as deserving winners. We are looking forward to the Masters finals guys. :finger:

Not many photos posted so far so I have posted a couple my girl took.

Cheers
Shaun

Pricey's coleection of busted pinions. Took none and broke 2. He managed to borrow 2 from Canoblas to finish the weekend. That's great sportmanship from the Canoblas guys.

The new look hilux with some stickers giving the ol girl a bit of colour, and the stickies didnt hurt our driving either. (shameless plug)

A happy navi is good thing - certainly better than the one that was yelling at me at the last comp :agrue:

Snowy torquing it up but keeping the 40 off the roof this weekend

Willowglen 2010 Photo Gallery

Post by AustImages »

Howdy all,

The photo gallery for Willowglen is now up. There are about 1500 shots all sorted into team order, so it's easy to find yourself. You can find the gallery here:

Willowglen Challenge 2010 photo gallery

I've also updated my website to lower the price of the past event DVDs, added some discounted DVD sets and I also now offer gift vouchers.

The upcoming KAMO Productions' Willowglen 2010 DVD is available for pre-order as well. Enjoy!

Cheers,

Yeah i have a bit of a history with pinions letting go

We made some new mounts for the lower control arms to give a bit more clearance and didn't think (as we got one side sorted at a time) any of the geometry had changed, but it had and caused the pinion to rotate enough under hard acceleration or torque and bind the tail shaft and snap off the pinion. But after shortening the upper control arms by 15mm or so on the Saturday night to bring the pinion angle back to normal the problem seemed to have been solved.

What i would like to say, is how awesome my team were with all getting stuck in and helping get the 40 back on the track  Thanks Team  .

I had an unfortunate incident happen on the Stepping Up event, where i sheared the axle studs off the P/S/R hub. But one stud hit our Treasurer Mark (who was working as a stage official) just inside his right eyelid, another hit one of the St John Ambulance workers in the leg. Mark was taken to Canberra Hospital and had 3 or 4 micro-stitches to his eyelid, and when he arrived back at Willowglen he come up and mentioned that he is all ok and he completely understands that it was just an accident  .
Made me feel that much better as i had been concerned about it since it happened. Not that the car broke, but that someone had been injured, especially when an eye was involved.

To the boys from Conobolos club, a MASSIVE thanks for lending me the 2 diffs to be able to keep competing. I owe you big time :D

To Trever Eadon from the Nepean Districts club, also a MASSIVE thanks for swapping over the locker twice  for me, especially in the miserable conditions. I owe you big time too

A big congratulations to the Southern Tablelands boys for taking the honours this year. To be 300 points clear on Saturday night is nearly unheard of
Well deserved, and as we were "reminded' by the boys at the presentation that its the 5Th time they've taken the trophy home

Also to Charles, Charles and Shaun for taking top placings, congratulations and extremely well driven.

Lastly, to the TLCC for putting on yet another top Willowglen Challenge. Everything went smoothly, so a big credit to everyone involved, from Tony, Pete, Mary and Andrew, to the stage managers and all the helpers and volunteers, who without them the event cant run so well    .

Cheers Pricey

To all the Teams and their wonderful supporters, Please accept a huge thank-you from all of the TLCC officials. You guys helped to make Willowglen so pleasurable to run. Not a whinge from anyone, only sensible constructive comments came in all weekend. :D :D :D

My congrats to the winning Drivers and Teams. Your scores should be up on the TLCC website very soon.

Personal thanks have to go to the Canobalas team that kept junior going with 2 diffs and to Trevor for assembling 2 lockers in them. :smilecolros: :smilecolros: :smilecolros: :smilecolros: :smilecolros:

Did anyone hear of a double swag being found. It would be somewhere between Willowglen and Tarago. Might not have been secured to a roofrack

Thanks again to you all, including all the volunteers, sponsors, and helpers. It couldn't happen without you.

Tony

I'd packed up, car on the trailer and forgot about the pile of broken bits, so thought i'd go for the chemical gloves so i didn't have to go wash up again :finger: They go alright for working on cars, especially CV's. Pull the gloves off when your done, and clean hands still :D

To all the TLCC club members and officials (Tony Price and his well oiled organising team) we would like to thank you on behalf of the Brindabella Ranges 4wd Club. All the hard work that you do in getting this event organised is greatly appreciated. Michael and Thomas Barrett (Car 114) with a personal thanks for how smoothly each and every stage ran with the new rules and point scoring which made the whole event more enjoyable for the drivers and navvies. As the spectators would appreciate seeing every car drive nearly every stage to the 100 point marker and bonus markers. Our best memory from this years event was Sunday after the mud when Tony Price drove the Patrol with a grin from ear to ear. Many thanks to all the sponsors for putting up approx $16k for prizes I think we walked away with at least 13 stubbie coolers from the prize giving! We had a wonderful time, as we do each time Willowglen is held, and think the camaraderie between all teams should be commended. Bring on Willowglen 2011!!

Hi All,

Willowglen 2010 was mine and my navies first ever comp. We had one of the smallest trucks being the Maroon Rangie 203, but I can honestly say I had the biggest and best time of my life! The spirit of the event, the friendliness of the marshals, the fairness and appropriateness of the rules all made for an enjoyable and memoriable experience. To Tony Price and the entire team it is a credit to you all. To all the teams welldone, you all put on such a great show, and all whom I chatted with were friendly and encouraging. It felt like everyone was competeing against their own targets not against each other!

From all the members and spectators of the Extreme 4wd club we'd like to thank TLCC, Tony, the entire team of volunteers, including all the toilet cleaners, merchandice, marshals and scorers. Without your efforts the sport of 4wding in NSW would be a sorry state.

Thankyou for the lifetime memories, and see you next year.

Shane and Michael. (Optimus Prime)

Well, here's a few pics my mum took my ute being driven by a mate!! I couldn't make it for the weekend due to the birth of our first bub. As it goes, she was due on the Sat of the long weekend(bad timing I know) but came a week early!!

Was getting news updates every now and then... but in total... 3 smashed CV's & no panel damage. I then sent a message to be passed on that if he doesn't flog the christ out of it in the mudrun, don't bother coming home. I hear he didn't disappoint!!

NICE CHOICE OF PHOTO FOR THE BACK DROP!!!!
Well spotted Paul. I had looked at this a couple of times and not noticed.

PHOTOS REQUIRED PLEASE

Did anyone get a copy of our hilux in the Rock Garden near the 90 point marker on the Sunday please. This is at the point where we had to drive over the big rock that got rolled over and stood up vertically.
It felt awesome to drive but Australian Images obviously werent on the event at the time we drove.

I would really appreciate if someone got something or even some good video footage.
Please PM me if you do.

Thanks
Shaun

G'day everyone

I had an emergency trip to QLD for two weeks (and no, this wasn't an emergency holiday!) which has put me behind a bit, but I am doing my best to have the Willowglen DVD out by the beginning of December.

Cheers Kev

PS thanks Tony for the phone call, enjoy the good weather over there.

Slightly OT, but if it was anyone here who rang me yesterday and left a message asking about the Willowglen DVD release date, sorry I can't call you back because your phone went crackly while you were leaving your number, and I couldn't understand it. I'm not too lazy to ring you back, but you'll have to call me again!

BTW, I believe the DVD will arrive next week for anyone else wondering.
