Fj40 fibreglas body

Post by Batcho Snr »

I hope someone out there can help me. The transport dept got me coming back from Mud, Bulls & Music for all sorts of things (35" tyres, steering wheel, racing harrness and the fibreglass body). I believe the body was made by Keith Donaldson from Bribie Island Qld but went out of business some years ago. If I can't supply his orginal specifications and certification for the body I'm up sh-t creek and will have to de-register the shorty :bad-words:
If anyone knows Keith or has some paperwork for one of his kits and can pass on any info I would be very gratful.
Regards Greg

Mate I have a Keith Donaldson Body and the paperwork to go with. However just this does not make it legal unless all car work, seat frames, etc are designed and engineered first to make the body structurally okay.

I am working overseas atm and my mate is storing the shorty along with the paperwork so if I can get him to scan and send I will, although he isn't all that technical with stuff like that. The letter just states that I purchased the kit from him and it has been constructed to the specifications as set by Qld trans.

I used a guy called Richard Larson at Load Safe who at the time was bsed from home at Upper Kedron. (back in 2001). He does alot of Qld Trans type work and approvals on imports so his certification was taken by Qld Trans no worries.

Ozeast is the guy who makes the fibreglass bodys etc in Noosa.
Maybe he could tell you what would be required?
I think his name is Allan.

Still hoping someone out there can help me with paper work on a 'Donaldson" body. The transport Dept have given me an extension till the 22nd Dec to fix all the defects but if I can't get any spec's on the body i'm stuffed. Hope coolfishluke can come through with his paperwork but if someone else can help I would be very grateful.
