Weak power steering, 2.8 Pajero

Post by pjb »

Folks, I'm trying to figure out a problem my mate's genII 2.8 LWB pajero power steering.
Seems to be just weak, like a lack of pressure from the pump. Fluid is at the right level. Tyre pressures are all good. It's gear driven, so not a belt problem. Feels fine with the front end jacked up.
Is this likely to be a problem with the pump or the steering box?
Cheers fellas.
