Post by discothrasher »

i am doing a rover toyo truggy build rover chassis with hilux ute cab and toyo diff conversion

with setting up the front diffs we know the hilux front inner axels are about 30mm shorter than the rover axels 80 series has a slightly wider wheel track

can anyone give me the measurements of a 80 series front inner axels both long and short axels .....measurements i need are long front inner axel tip to tip then measurement from start of spline to start of spline and the same for the short front inner axel

thanks very much

Sorry Kelvin but it's only the short side Toyota axle that can be used with an 8mm spacer on the diff end. No other Toyota long side axle matches the length. I have measured them all in the past when doing this same conversion.

I was working at Haultech Eng when we built the Lockless buggy. And then we also built the Lockless Monster which was the orange defender I drove at Tuff Truck and then Sam barrel rolled a few weeks later at Superior All Terrain Challenge. Both had the Toyota conversions. We used a short side Toyota axle and a JacMac long side.

At the time we used our own treated CVs. But I recommend using longfields.
