gas solenoid issues

Post by richardsc »

hi guys, ive been putting a 60 series extra cab back to gether, originally i bought the 302 cleveland,5 speed and transfer out of it,but ended up buying the cruiser down the track as the 350 chev that was going in it was destroyed in the black saturday fires.

anyways,my dilemma,i bought the motor carbyless,it was duel fuel, but as it has duel gas tanks i got rid of the petrol tank, wasnt running on petrol anyways, when i first put the motor back in,when it was switched onto gas the solenoid would clink when u turned the ignition on,now ive put an impco 425 carby on it,hooked up the gas line but im not getting the clink, cars turning ov er but wont fire up obviously, any ideas on what i have done, can the solenoid be locked

any help greatly appreciated
