It would be for sure. Alot of the guys from the Saturday were just too worn out for another day off it. Myself and others were there too show our support just didn't have the cars ready and there was a few at Toperi. Next year would be different I'd think.
Ben, why do you speak on behalf of other!
I have never had any intensions of competing in this event, as I stated when this subject of this competition was first raised about 18 months ago.
I am pretty sure the other competitors that went to Toperi are of the same opinion, but that is for them to say.
From what I understand this event was run as a trial.... 3 competitors = flop to me.... unfortunately I am of the same opinion as Shane

Your pretty much doing what Ben did, commenting on the behalf of others i myself hope it goes ahead as i kno of at least 4 cars that are in the process of being built that wish to give this competition a go , and we where there to show our support as spectators, your way to quick to say flop at least give Brett and Mitch ago and the others who wish to have this competition up and running.

I wasn't talking about you, never mentioned you. Never mentioned any one just stated that there was a comp on at the same time.
No we wouldn't have entered, but thats us, not speaking for ANYONE else. Know one knows whether it will be better next time I don't know why people think they have the answers. It seems a lot of people say they will go in it then don't so how can that help progress this comp. Maybe it shouldn't have been the day after K.O.R i don't know.Best of luck if you do run it again guys and hopefully the people who pushed for this class will actually compete in it. Well done for giving it a go.
yes there were only a few cars that entered on the sunday for the trial and it was a bit disapointing and yes it was not a good time to have it as most of the guys doing kotr either broke or were to worn out to get back up again (cant blame them)
as like any new class or comp it does take time to evolve and for people to get behind it . as everyone knows there are alot of cars out there that can compete in this class and i hope they will support us in the future .
as for round 1 at janowen in feb i wouldnt expect a huge feild of cars with tuff truck just around the corner but round 2 and 3 if we are still down on numbers then i would say yes it is a waste of time .
(gubeaut the people who know me know why my vehicle and myself were not able to be there and mitch had to step in and set up the tracks .)
Mine is still a way off being completed. Every time I start to get ahead on it, something else comes up to distract me. Hoping to have a bit of a run at things over Christmas. In any event, don't plan at this stage to get back into competing as my new rig is being built as a social wheeler and not really a comp vehicle..... But having said that, I will do my best to get out for a round or two next year to support the club and the new class. So will the class be ran at the other parks such as Janowen etc..... or will it be limited to Scenic

So how many will be at the next round?
I have sent Rolly a PM confirming my backing of this event (as a competitor). Although, I am aware of another comp being schedule the same weekend as round 1.....
Unfortunately at this time of the year alot of people are fixing/modifying thier trucks ready for next years comps(us included.) If everyone turned up that said they would it would have been great but it is a busy time of year for everyone. I think this will be a great comp for all those rigs out there that have grown out of Challenge class at Tough Tracks and will be good practice for the rigs that are wanting to go to Tough Trucks. It's unfortunate that a few people are very quick to call a comp a "Flop" and right it off . As for those who think they can do better come and have a go, we can always do with some help within the club who think they are better at organizing comps. Remember guys this comp is run by volenteers who donate thier own time for the sport of 4wding and it would be nice if you could support it, as alot of the other comps you compete in are also run by volenteers and if everyone was going to right these guys off who are willing to give it a go then you will end up with nothing being done.
Just remember that this class is not just for those cars that are wanting to go down the path of Tuff Truck. It also gives the buggy guys something again as well as those guys who have a car without rego an oppertunity to have a go at a well run comp. Even though there was a small turn out at the trial, I would like to think that this class can grow into a success. I allready know of a couple of guys who even though they may not win or for that matter be at the pointy end of the field are going to have a go just for the sake of competing, much like most of the cars who are allready competing in the other 3 classes. Get out there and have some fun I say.

Well said we are all out there just to have fun, you aren't going to be able to retire off the prizes so why else do it than to have fun. Last years trial run for "Modified" only had about 3-4 vehicles turn up but when it came to the first comp this year there was over 10+ vehicles.
FYI you dont need to have a registered vehicle to be able to run in "Challenge" Class any more. It was voted on in the last meeting that you don't need rego but it must be of sound engineering and comp specifications and will still need to come under all of "Challenge" Classes normal vehicles requirements and must still be scrutaneered before entering.

BRING ON 2011!!!!
I have confirmed today Superior Engineering Will be sponsoring the Outlaw class in 2011.
Hopefully we see some good tough rigs show up for the first round, including some Interstate trucks.
As this will be a first of this class in Tough tracks, i know the club and myself will accept any feedback as good feedback.
With the appropiate feedback we can make this an exceptional event to come and compete in QLD , a lot of guys always say their is no comp for their over modified trucks in QLD so here it is.
There is still heaps of time for incomplete projects to be up and running and i know we can produce a fun and enjoyable event for both spectators and Race teams.
