urgent...ashtray is stuck

Post by cruiser60series »

ashtray is stuck all the way in, I believe that the dash cigarette lighter I keep in there has wegded under that release flap thing and I can't seem to shift it.

Got any bright ideas?? It's a HJ47 and I can't remove the dash surround with the ashtray in.
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

Use a lighter?

Or get something thin, slide it in the gap and push it to the back.
Or slide it forward with a bit of pressure.

Did this in dad's car. :bad-words:

If the 47 series ash tray is sinilar to the 45 series ..... You should be abled to reach around the back of the dash and put your hand in the top ....
May need to move some air ducting if it has AirCon ?
