Mitsubishi Turbo on GQ

Post by Wozza244 »

I have one on my TD42 and the flange seal on the turbo housing joining the exhaust manifold has blown and is leaving soot all over the place and puffs smoke when i rev it.

My local auto part guy nor exhaust centre cant seem to find a listing for it, does anyone know where to find such a gasket?

I gave him the numbers off the turbo but he still cant find a listing.

If its not a custom manifold then it should just be using a td42t exhaust manifold so you should be able to just ask for that

Well its a custom job alright, where the old zorst bolted up to the manifold has been plated off and a hole cut in the side of the manifold and a 3" pipe with turbo flange custom welded into the manifold. Thats the flange im needing a gasket for, the one the turbo is bolted to.
But its obviously there to suit the mitsu turbo so i thought someone might know.

Is it the turbo from the DTS kit? If so you could ring MTQ, the suplier of those kits and ask them. Im pretty sure they supply spare parts for there kits.

Not sure whether it was a kit or not to begin with, it seems pretty made up as they went. Has custom pipework because it has a front mount cooler.

MTQ :?:

I know they deal with both mitsubishi and hitachi turbos ( both standard nissan fitment GQ and GU) might be worth a call, the flange on the turbo won't change between kits so the gasket should be the same ............. Or am I missing something :?:

It will be a STD TD05 turbo if it's a Mitsubishi and if it is then they take a STD T3 flange gasket

Aha, now we are getting somewhere, when i bought it i noticed it has a Td05 placard/decal on the back of the tray, i thought he must have just thought it looked good so put it there.
Ok where do i source that from? Mitsubishi or an auto parts supplier like repco or something?

the TD05 is what MTQ put in the kits i mentioned earlier, they would be the easiest i reckon.
