Hey all i'm looking into upgrading the turbo on my 03 bravo, I have already fitted a bigger fmic, chopped out the muffler and replaced it with a straight through one, knocked out the cat, and wound the fuel aneroid thingy so the fuel cuts in earlier, that was over two years ago and i want more power again, the turbo that i am seriously considering is a brand new CT-26 turbo off of a landcruiser specs are: 42.9mm front wheel (inducer) 51.9/67.9 rear wheel with a tiny .48 rear housing this is off the 4.0 litre cruiser i am led to believe and was also used on the 3.5 shorty? has anyone had any success with this turbo on a smaller motor?? i know its off a large motor but i'm comparing it to other turbo's used as upgrades for ~ 2.5 motor's the TD04-15g is as an upgrade for the bravo as a kit from capa it has a 43.4mm front wheel, and a 44.4 rear with unknown housing size cos its a mitsubishi turbo, a GT2560 has a 46.5mm front wheel, i think around a 45mm rear and .64 A/R, from the research i have done these turbo's build boost straight after idle and produce 150kw on cruiser's they fall off boost early on the big engines, and many ppl upgade the front wheel to a supra one (47mm) and back cut the rear wheels to allow for more flow.
Basically what i'm asking is has someone tried one of these on a sub 3 litre motor and.. do u think the turbo will be too laggy?? reason i am favouring a CT-26 is that i can get a genuine brand new one for about 1/3 the price of a garrett gt2560 or TD04 - 15G. ohh i'm scaping the standard exhaust for either a 2.5 or 3 inch ???
