hey guys, ive put a 13bt in my bj42 and on start up it blows alot of blue smoke but when the truck gets warm it blows a little black i no that is usually normal but what could be the reason for the blue colour smoke be: injectors or low on comp injector pump needs to be adjusted. If you can point me the right direction and maybe no a good diesel shop im from Melbourne.
cheers.
cheers.
Re: bj40 with 13bt
Blue smoke is oil isn't it?
Re: bj40 with 13bt
how much we talking? They are a old school smokey motor, mine puffs out blue smoke abit, party due to high oil pressure pushing past the seals in the turbo.

Re: bj40 with 13bt
hey guys,
blue smoke is an indication of oil passing through. would first start by checking the turbo and intake just a back pull off the pipe and check if any oil is pooling up in their. secondly if turbo checks out fine, do a comp test. first a dry test and then a wet test so you have something to compare too.
hope this helps ya out a little.

Re: bj40 with 13bt
how much would buggered valve stem seals add to amount of oil getting burnt?
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

Camry was petrol though?
Diesels dont have vacuum in the intake so the oil drawn through will be minimal unless they are well and truly stuffed.
Pull the intake pipe and check for oil, if there is oil in the intake it is from before the valve stem seals. Either the turbo or rocker cover breather.
