GQ 2.8TD fuel economy??

Post by issacm »

Just wondering of the fellow members what kind of fuel economy they are getting on the RD28t engines, I am considering I am getting bad fuel usuage with only notching up 250km to half a tank. I am running 33s and 7 inch lift with storage system and roof racks and bullbar with a winch. I have also had a 3inch mandrel turbo back fitted and had the inectors and pump done about 12 months ago. If any other members could help me out this would be greatly apprectiated or if also they know of any modifications to help with this matter

I was getting 18-22ltr per 100km with mine with 33" tyres on its was a joke, thats why i pulled it out and currently putting in a Inj 5.0L .
My thought was if im going to use that much fuel i might aswell have the power to go with it.

Hey mate bought a 96 2.8 wagon for the missus to use. Has four inch lift and 35s . When we bought it was very gutless. Put new injectors in and mandrel bent exhaust. Was doing 15litres per 100klm. Did the injector pump timing advanced it and set turbo to run ten psi. Set the fuel screw on the back of the pump ended up getting 330klms to half a tank. Sold it to a apprentice at work he loves it and flogs the bags out of it goes well.We now have a 4.8 gu loves the fuel
