Re: Want to buy a Jackaroo
check service history
unfortunately these motors were ahead of their time with the caterpiller injection system and use of incorrect weight oil kills them eventually
come over to the Australia4wd forum http://forum.australia4wd.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? as we have plenty of info from current and ex owners there
Jackaroos hold up very well interior wise and are quite capable but the 4JX1 motor is Voodoo magic for some mechanics

Re: Want to buy a Jackaroo
Don't do it. We sold our 2001 TD jackaroo just on six months ago. It was a really comfy and nice car to drive but it cost so much everytime it went to the mechanics. It only had 148k on it when we sold it. We had it for two years and spent almost 10k on engine repairs. This didn't include anything major like heads or turbo or anything like that. If you want more info let me know.
