have tried that just keeps taking the edges off the cone washer but they still wont budge

you use your brass drift to hit the ends of the studs that the collets are on this will usualy loosen them

have done one side but cant get the other yet,have sprayed with wd40 and will try later

give the hub a tap around it using the hammer, like on a TRE
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Sometimes they can pop and not show too much. Can be because of silicone gasket. You doing it with bolts still on. I always just tap the side of the hubs with a hammer.

Undo the nut til the face of it is flush with the end of the stud. This will avoid damaging the thread and can reduce the likely-hood of bending it.
With a good sized drift or even a bit of steel rod. Have a look around, you'll find something (I've even had to use the handle of a breaker bar or the pin of a treg coupling to get me out of the poo). Using the drift on end of the stud against the nut, give it a good, sharp whack. Tapping it wont work, must be a good hit, but be sure to hit it square on or you'll destroy the stud. You may only notice the cone has moved a millimeter or so if it is held in there by goo, then once it's loose, pull it right off with a pair of pliers.
Belting the crap out of the hub will never work. You will simply butcher your hub.

Remember:
* Must hit it square on
* Must be a good, firm, whack

You should have tried to tee up a time to be there when they attempt to get them off, then you could see the method used and you would know for next time.
