NG Pajero...busted CV?
This weekend just passed, I was looking forward to going up to my property for a bit of 4WDing. We got there and I locked the hubs and put it in 4WD. *crunch* *crunch* as I drove forward, and the 4WD light didn't come on the dashboard. I went and unlocked the left hub cap, and the 4WD light came on in the dash and the car seemed to drive fine. Does this sound like a CV joint busted? On the sealed road, my car drives no differently than any other time, with the right hub locked it drives ok in 4WD, with both hubs locked it makes a huge crunching noise. Although I wanted to go out 4WDing, after realising my 4WD wasn't working properly I kept my off road driving to a minimum, but still had to use my vehicle to get on and off my property. My 4WD is a 1990 NG Pajero 2.5 turbo diesel manual. I'm really desperate for some advice because I am hoping to be able to leave for my 5 night trip to the Vic High Country (already paid accomodation) next week on 12/1.
