diesel engine for 1990 single cab

gday we have just become the proud owners of a 1990 single cab hilux, it doesnt have an engine, it has a 2.8 badge on the side, what would a ball park price be to get a 2.8 diesel in this, we do have a 2.4 turba deisel that needs an injector replaced or sticky valve can we do this up and put in the 1990 hilux, this is sons first car so is a project for us both many thanks

2.8 is a beter motor but u can certrnly put the turbo 2.4 in u will be paying around the 2900 for a fully rebuilt 2.8 i would do that then put the turbo manifold on the 2.8

I have owned both 2.4 and 2.8 turbo'd. Would take the 2.8 anyday over the 2.4
