You need to buy a widening kit like this one

Yep, did same to mine.
Need a rotor spacer & bolts if you have good rotors already.
Can get a kit from Marks Adaptors or may be able to get just the spacer from Bubs Customs.

$350 that's expensive when you can land them into the country from overseas for under $250 ....

I understand supporting local guys but with the Aussie dollar the way it is they need to become more price competitive ...

who was the shipping though, UPS is dearer then USPS last time I was looking into and some places use DHL, and there would be alot more weight in a whole sas kit

Does the marks kit work in the same way as the one above (from sky manufacturing)?

It may seem a stupid question, possibly an engineer can answer best, but why is it done this way for the ifs hub conversion versus spacing the brake caliper out 34mm with the corresponding longer bolts, so surf / LN106 ventilated disks and calipers can be used, a far superior brake setup?

I'm still using the Surf calipers with LN106/60 series vented rotors, so same braking setup. Can use the thinner non-vented rotors & matching calipers if you wish as in Andy's pic.
Making an acceptable bracket, etc. to move a brake caliper 30mm+ horizontally that an engineer will pass is more problematic, when I looked into it anyway.

Used locktite during spacer assembly and no issues to date.

sorry had no internet lately.......ive looks into that and wondered how safe it is? just testing the fact of running a solid axel disc on the surf hub (redilled holes) and running caliper mounted on inside of mount instead of outside...what would everyone say on this, ie pros and cons? pics: Image

Never thought of trying it that way.
If it lines up the caliper exactly over the centre of the rotor, should work.
The bolts holding the caliper might be a PITA to get on and off tho.
What did you redrill to fit ... caliper/rotor ?

Maybe have an engineer look at it for some feedback ?

yeah its a pian and takes forever to put the bolts in and was thinking of taping a thread into caliper and drilling out hub. its very close to lining up, so thinking of taking 3mm off the tab mounts. it works out cheaper but a bit more labour i guess.....

I do not like it at all mate, i once looked into it too, it is done like that by some blokes in the u.s, but if you have to ask is it ok? and its brakes, do you really feel safe? All i can suggest is do not go cheap on brakes, is your, or your family's life really worth putting into that situation, where your asking opinions of others! get the spacers and do it properly!
Cheers Gus
