Post by ROAD_KILL »

hi guys before anyone wants to start YES i have searched and i couldn't find anything so here it goes.

my mates 98 sr5 hilux wont select 4wd . we have changed all the vacuum lines unplugged and silicone sprayed/cleaned all plugs . checked that there is vacuum but still not working ! its been like this for 3 months now . the other day he was driving on the freeway and knocked the 4wd button and the light came on ! so he pulled over and tested it but the light didn't come on and no drive to front wheels.

any help would be much appreciate or if there is a post on here about the same problem please send me the link .

They have issues with the electronic actuator motor on the transfer case, so would start there. Have had them just jam up. just pull it off and put it back on and all good.

Or it could be a prob with the motor itself
