hj 75 glow plug circuit issue

Post by Wambat »

Hey guys. The glow plug circuit on my 89 75 series is playing up so I need some ideas on how to fix it. The problem is when I now go to glow it the light telling me its glowing goes off immediately not after 5 seconds. so to keep the light on and glow the circuit I had to push the key further than the glow setting but not far enough to start it kicking over. This happend last night and this morning. Any one able to help me with where to start looking for this. I don't want to have to turn my motor over endlessly soon.

Thanks guys

Hi wambat,
U could have a faulty timing device from memory it's either behind glove box or on left hand kick panel, try disconnecting wires going to glow plugs & see if period that light is on for changes if it takes longer to go out then possible glow plug faulty & shorting out would need a multimeter to test which plug is faulty.

Thanks
